Church Coffee Hour

Women’s Circle

Opportunities for connecting with other people and making new friends are important in the life of our church.  Coffee hours and potluck suppers occur frequently -- check the calendar for dates -- or join in one of our small group fellowship programs.

In the summer come and join us for lemonade and ice cream on the church lawn!

Women’s Circle of the Presbyterian Women’s Assoc.

 

Women in the church enjoy meeting in "circles", small groups that  come together for fellowship and learning.  The HOC Women's Circle meets on the third Tuesday of each month from September - May for bible study and socializing.  The Women's Circle also supports a variety of local and denominational mission projects.

 

Please consider taking one night a month to meet with us.  You will be welcomed!

 

HOP (Happy Older Presbyterians)

 

If you're interested in joining fellow members of our congregation (and their friends) who are free to travel, in a new social activity program for seniors and other adults at Head of Christiana Church,  we meet one day a month (Tuesday) to take excursions to nearby points of interest (with handicap accessible venues). 

 

To keep our costs at a minimum, we travel in members’ cars (drivers are compensated for gas and “wear and tear” on their vehicles.”  Out-of-pocket costs include entrance fees (possibly lower group rates) and food and beverages and souvenirs, if you’re so inclined.  Travel allowance and office expenses will be shared by the participants (independent of church budget).

Our itinerary starts by gathering mid-morning (around 10:00am-11:00am) at HOC and going over our plans for the day; departing to our destination; visiting/touring our selected venue; enjoying lunch at a nice restaurant (Dutch treat); then returning home by early evening (around 4:00pm).

Nifty-Wifty

 

For nearly ten years, on the last Wednesday of the month, the Nifty-Wifty group has been meeting for lunch at Wesley’s in Maryland.  This restaurant offers HOC members a convenient location, easy parking and access, and a private dining area.  Unlike most establishments, they graciously provide separate checks.  No need to reserve, tables are ready at 11:30 and lunch orders are taken at 12:00.  Friends and family members of all ages are always welcome.

Head of Christiana has three deacons who continue care and fellowship outreach through home visitations.
